Adlink Technology, a global provider of cloud-based services, intelligent gateways, and embedded building blocks for edge devices that enable the Internet of Things (IoT), announced the opening of a demonstration room developed in collaboration with Intel. Combining Intel’s latest developed technologies with Adlink’s design capabilities, this alliance aims to deliver advanced switching, transcoding, and deep packet inspection solutions for the intelligent edge cloud computing platforms. The demo room will exhibit smart access applications on edge computing servers, servers, and network appliances.

With nearly two decades of manufacturing and design experience in industrial telecommunication, Ethernet switching, and computing manufacturing, Adlink is now announcing its new cooperative framework with Intel. The demonstration and testing lab will combine Adlink’s extensive application design experience with Intel’s latest networking and communications technology. Their initial focus will be on developing real-time applications with these innovative edge computing technologies and providing industrial solutions.

With Adlink’s ATCA and CompactPCI servers for industrial telecommunications and mobile Ethernet, Adlink aims to push forward the future of mobile telecommunications and work with Intel to develop the next generation industrial-grade networking and telecommunication appliances.

"Moving processing and data storage away from a centralized location to the edges of the network can improve performance of online commerce sites," said Jim Liu, CEO of Adlink Technology. "Through collaboration with Intel, Adlink will enable the application ready intelligent platform to enhance user experience through the last mile," Liu said.

"Intel is working with Adlink to advance the industry to transform the network as we know it today," said Rick Dwyer, vice president of sales and marketing group at Intel. "The demonstration lab provides an excellent environment for local companies to build on Intel and Adlink technologies to deliver SDN/NFV solutions," Dwyer said.

With this new strategic partnership, Adlink moves beyond providing simple hardware building blocks for today’s emerging edge computing architectures, to instead developing fully formed, application-ready intelligent platforms that integrate hardware platforms with intelligent software applications for tomorrow’s edge computing and smart access telecommunication solutions.

Platform products

Adlink is demonstrating two new platform products for edge computing system infrastructure. The CSA-5100/5200 is a combined software defined networking (SDN) switch and next-generation firewall that provides deep packet inspection and network functions for virtualization. Intended as part of a full systems solution, the CSA-5100/5200 may be paired with the new Adlink rugged edge computing and smart access server, the HXC-1000. The HXC-1000 intends to provide server functionality to a wide variety of industrial suppliers for outdoor and harsh applications, including edge networking equipment for mobile access, mobile content delivery networks, cable modem termination systems, as well as military and agriculture applications.
